So far, using the qa-ctl tool we can launch manager and agent tests for centOS and Ubuntu systems.

It is requested to be able to run Windows tests. To do this, we will need to create the Windows box and update the qa-ctl playbooks so that they can run tasks on a Windows hosts (Windows ansible tasks have a different syntax).

After finishing this issue, the qa-ctl tool will be able to launch any documented Windows test (using vagrant) just like centOS and Ubuntu.

Estimated tasks

  • Investigate changes needed to add support for windows tests
  • Incorporate qa-docs changes to parse Windows tests
  • Add windows os to validations performed by qa-ctl
  • Generate an automatic configuration for windows test runs
  • Update ansible-playbook tasks to support windows
    • Deployment
    • Provisioning
    • Testing
  • Testing of all changes made. Ensure windows tests are running correctly
