Since there is no action on this pull request by the maintainer, let me ask what everybody's plan is.

Have you found alternative libraries? Is anybody planning on forking this project and keep maintaining it? I consider making a fork for ourselves, but the abilities to provide support and general maintenance for the public would be limited.

@sprain We are living off this fork (because of the PR) right now. If you consider to fork it, I might be able to help out a bit. But please consider that my knowledge about this lib is very limited.

I would also help to maintain it
But best would be to have the project transfered to a new maintainer.
That way the URL+links would still point to the currently maintained repo.
