Armor Piercing (AP)

  • The most basic round. It's typically just a solid chunk of metal flying at high speeds, intended to hit and penetrate armor.
  • This is available on just about everything except for:
    • Flare Launchers.
    • Grenade Launchers.
    • Mortars.
    • Smoke Launchers.
    • Smoothbore Cannons.

High Explosive (HE)

  • The second most basic round. It's a round with a cavity filled with explosive filler, intended to hit and saturate an area with explosive energy and shrapnel.
  • This is available on just about everything except for:
    • Flare Launchers.
    • Machineguns.
    • Rotary Autocannons.
    • Smoke Launchers.
    • Smoothbore Cannons.

Armor Piercing High Explosive (APHE)

  • A combination of AP and HE, it's an armor piercing shell with an explosive filler, intended to explode after penetrating armor, but explodes regardless of whether or not it does.
  • This is available on just about everything except for:
    • Flare Launchers.
    • Grenade Launchers.
    • Machineguns.
    • Mortars.
    • Rotary Autocannons.
    • Smoke Launchers.
    • Smoothbore Cannons.

High Explosive Anti Tank (HEAT)

  • A specially designed HE shell that shapes the blast into a "lens" capable of penetrating far more armor than other shell types of similar caliber, but is very easily defeated with certain armor designs.
  • This is available on just about everything except for:
    • Autocannons.
    • Flare Launchers.
    • Heavy Machineguns.
    • Machineguns.
    • Mortars.
    • Rotary Autocannons.
    • Smoke Launchers.
    • Smoothbore Cannons.

Armor Piercing Composite Rigid (APCR)

  • Also known as HVAP (High Velocity Armor Piercing), this has a central core of a higher density material, typically tungsten carbide. It has a higher penetration capability compared to AP, but it quickly loses that over distance.
  • This is ONLY available for:
    • Autocannons.
    • Autoloaded Cannons.
    • Cannons.
    • Heavy Machineguns.
    • Rotary Autocannons.
    • Semiautomatic Cannons.
    • Short Cannons.

Armor Piercing Discarding Sabot (APDS)

  • A round that has a high density core, typically tungsten carbide, surrounded by a "sabot" that is discarded shortly after leaving the barrel. An extremely capable round, it can almost double the penetration of a weapon, at the cost of not doing much damage itself.
  • This is ONLY available for:
    • Autocannons.
    • Autoloaded Cannons.
    • Cannons.
    • Rotary Autocannons.
    • Semiautomatic Cannons.

Hollow Point (HP)

  • A round that has a hollow cavity intended to flatten against armor and transfer all of the energy of the round to the target. Really fun to hit jeeps with.
  • This is ONLY available for:
    • Machineguns.

Flechette (FL)

  • A round that is more akin to a shotgun shell, it is filled with long spikes intended to disperse after leaving the barrel. Depending on the settings, can be very good at wiping out infantry in front or behind cover, or clearing out the occupants of a car. They aren't very effective at range however, having no stabilization midflight.
  • This is available on just about everything except for:
    • Autocannons.
    • Flare Launchers.
    • Grenade Launchers.
    • Heavy Machineguns.
    • Machineguns.
    • Mortars.
    • Rotary Autocannons.
    • Semiautomatic Cannons.
    • Smoke Launchers.
    • Smoothbore Cannons.

Armor Piercing Fin Stabilized Discarding Sabot (APDSFS)

  • The king of all things armor piercing, this has a pencil dart of typically tungsten carbide, or instead in cheeseburgerland depleted uranium, with little fins tacked on to keep it stable in flight, encased in another fancy "sabot" so it has a load of propellant behind it to send this flying at stupid high speeds. Extremely capable of putting a tiny hole in anything, but not doing a whole lot afterwards.
  • This is ONLY available for:
    • Smoothbore Cannons.

High Explosive Anti-Tank Fin Stabilized (HEATFS)

  • A shaped charge with some fins on it. Other than being usable in smoothbores, it doesn't change much at all compared to the original.
  • This is ONLY available for:
    • Smoothbore Cannons.

Smoke (SM)

  • A shell with either one of or a mix of smoke filler and white phosphorus, it is very capable of providing quick visual cover for yourself, or blinding your enemies if you shoot it at them.
  • This is available on just about everything except for:
    • Autocannons.
    • Autoloaded Cannons.
    • Flare Launchers.
    • Grenade Launchers.
    • Heavy Machineguns.
    • Machineguns.
    • Rotary Autocannons.
    • Semiautomatic Cannons.
