The consequential callout pattern is used in forms to inform the users of any impacts their selected answer may have.
Display questions as normal.
If the answer selected has an associated consequence, display the explanation in an alert pattern.
You can see how the exposed after pattern works in storybook.
Use the consequential callout pattern when:
- you want to let users know the impact of their current form field selection.
- the form field input is a radio button, checkbox or dropdown.
Do not use the consequential callout pattern when:
- providing information that relates to all possible answers.
- providing information that will help the user properly and accurately answer the question.
This pattern is not included in the Canada.ca Design System. We created the pattern from components in the Extended Design System.
