commit 40a50f8 upstream. TPS65217 IRQ domain should be removed and initialised as NULL when the module is unloaded for the next use. When tps65217.ko is loaded again, it causes the page fault. This patch fixes the error below. root@arm:~# lsmod | grep "tps" tps65217_charger 3538 0 tps65218_pwrbutton 2974 0 tps65217 6710 1 tps65217_charger root@arm:~# modprobe -r tps65217_charger root@arm:~# commit f222449 upstream. We cannot do printk() from tk_debug_account_sleep_time(), because tk_debug_account_sleep_time() is called under tk_core seq lock. The reason why printk() is unsafe there is that console_sem may invoke scheduler (up()->wake_up_process()->activate_task()), which, in turn, can return back to timekeeping code, for instance, via get_time()->ktime_get(), deadlocking the system on tk_core seq lock. [ Upstream commit 2bd624b ] Commit 6664498 ("packet: call fanout_release, while UNREGISTERING a netdev"), unfortunately, introduced the following issues. 1. calling mutex_lock(&fanout_mutex) (fanout_release()) from inside rcu_read-side critical section. rcu_read_lock disables preemption, most often, which prohibits calling sleeping functions. To fix the above problems, remove the call to fanout_release() under rcu_read_lock(). Instead, call __dev_remove_pack(&fanout->prot_hook) and netdev_run_todo will be happy that &dev->ptype_specific list is empty. In order to achieve this, I moved dev_{add,remove}_pack() out of fanout_{add,release} to __fanout_{link,unlink}. So, call to {,__}unregister_prot_hook() will make sure fanout->prot_hook is removed as well. commit c755e25 upstream. The xattr_sem deadlock problems fixed in commit 2e81a4e: "ext4: avoid deadlock when expanding inode size" didn't include the use of xattr_sem in fs/ext4/inline.c. With the addition of project quota which added a new extra inode field, this exposed deadlocks in the inline_data code similar to the ones fixed by 2e81a4e. The deadlock can be reproduced via: dmesg -n 7 mke2fs -t ext4 -O inline_data -Fq -I 256 /dev/vdc 32768 mount -t ext4 -o debug_want_extra_isize=24 /dev/vdc /vdc mkdir /vdc/a umount /vdc mount -t ext4 /dev/vdc /vdc echo foo > /vdc/a/foo and looks like this: [ 11.158815] [ 11.160276] ============================================= [ 11.161960] [ INFO: possible recursive locking detected ] [ 11.161960] 4.10.0-rc3-00015-g011b30a8a3cf #160 Tainted: G W [ 11.161960] --------------------------------------------- [ 11.161960] bash/2519 is trying to acquire lock: [ 11.161960] (&ei->xattr_sem){++++..}, at: [<c1225a4b>] ext4_expand_extra_isize_ea+0x3d/0x4cd [ 11.161960] [ 11.161960] but task is already holding lock: [ 11.161960] (&ei->xattr_sem){++++..}, at: [<c1227941>] ext4_try_add_inline_entry+0x3a/0x152 [ 11.161960] [ 11.161960] other info that might help us debug this: [ 11.161960] Possible unsafe locking scenario: [ 11.161960] [ 11.161960] CPU0 [ 11.161960] ---- [ 11.161960] lock(&ei->xattr_sem); [ 11.161960] lock(&ei->xattr_sem); [ 11.161960] [ 11.161960] *** DEADLOCK *** [ 11.161960] [ 11.161960] May be due to missing lock nesting notation [ 11.161960] [ 11.161960] 4 locks held by bash/2519: [ 11.161960] #0: (sb_writers#3){.+.+.+}, at: [<c11a2414>] mnt_want_write+0x1e/0x3e [ 11.161960] GrapheneOS#1: (&type->i_mutex_dir_key){++++++}, at: [<c119508b>] path_openat+0x338/0x67a [ 11.161960] GrapheneOS#2: (jbd2_handle){++++..}, at: [<c123314a>] start_this_handle+0x582/0x622 [ 11.161960] GrapheneOS#3: (&ei->xattr_sem){++++..}, at: [<c1227941>] ext4_try_add_inline_entry+0x3a/0x152 [ 11.161960] [ 11.161960] stack backtrace: [ 11.161960] CPU: 0 PID: 2519 Comm: bash Tainted: G W 4.10.0-rc3-00015-g011b30a8a3cf #160 [ 11.161960] Hardware name: QEMU Standard PC (i440FX + PIIX, 1996), BIOS 1.10.1-1 04/01/2014 [ 11.161960] Call Trace: [ 11.161960] dump_stack+0x72/0xa3 [ 11.161960] __lock_acquire+0xb7c/0xcb9 [ 11.161960] ? kvm_clock_read+0x1f/0x29 [ 11.161960] ? __lock_is_held+0x36/0x66 [ 11.161960] ? __lock_is_held+0x36/0x66 [ 11.161960] lock_acquire+0x106/0x18a [ 11.161960] ? ext4_expand_extra_isize_ea+0x3d/0x4cd [ 11.161960] down_write+0x39/0x72 [ 11.161960] ? ext4_expand_extra_isize_ea+0x3d/0x4cd [ 11.161960] ext4_expand_extra_isize_ea+0x3d/0x4cd [ 11.161960] ? _raw_read_unlock+0x22/0x2c [ 11.161960] ? jbd2_journal_extend+0x1e2/0x262 [ 11.161960] ? __ext4_journal_get_write_access+0x3d/0x60 [ 11.161960] ext4_mark_inode_dirty+0x17d/0x26d [ 11.161960] ? ext4_add_dirent_to_inline.isra.12+0xa5/0xb2 [ 11.161960] ext4_add_dirent_to_inline.isra.12+0xa5/0xb2 [ 11.161960] ext4_try_add_inline_entry+0x69/0x152 [ 11.161960] ext4_add_entry+0xa3/0x848 [ 11.161960] ? __brelse+0x14/0x2f [ 11.161960] ? _raw_spin_unlock_irqrestore+0x44/0x4f [ 11.161960] ext4_add_nondir+0x17/0x5b [ 11.161960] ext4_create+0xcf/0x133 [ 11.161960] ? ext4_mknod+0x12f/0x12f [ 11.161960] lookup_open+0x39e/0x3fb [ 11.161960] ? __wake_up+0x1a/0x40 [ 11.161960] ? lock_acquire+0x11e/0x18a [ 11.161960] path_openat+0x35c/0x67a [ 11.161960] ? sched_clock_cpu+0xd7/0xf2 [ 11.161960] do_filp_open+0x36/0x7c [ 11.161960] ? _raw_spin_unlock+0x22/0x2c [ 11.161960] ? __alloc_fd+0x169/0x173 [ 11.161960] do_sys_open+0x59/0xcc [ 11.161960] SyS_open+0x1d/0x1f [ 11.161960] do_int80_syscall_32+0x4f/0x61 [ 11.161960] entry_INT80_32+0x2f/0x2f [ 11.161960] EIP: 0xb76ad469 [ 11.161960] EFLAGS: 00000286 CPU: 0 [ 11.161960] EAX: ffffffda EBX: 08168ac8 ECX: 00008241 EDX: 000001b6 [ 11.161960] ESI: b75e46bc EDI: b7755000 EBP: bfbdb108 ESP: bfbdafc0 [ 11.161960] DS: 007b ES: 007b FS: 0000 GS: 0033 SS: 007b Reported-by: George Spelvin <linux@sciencehorizons.net> Signed-off-by: Theodore Ts'o <tytso@mit.edu> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org>

commit 9cf6cdb upstream. Fixes a regression triggered by a change in the layout of struct iio_chan_spec, but the real bug is in the driver which assumed a specific structure layout in the first place. Hint: the two bits were not OR:ed together as implied by the indentation prior to this patch, there was a comma between them, which accidentally moved the ..._SCALE bit to the next structure field. That field was .info_mask_shared_by_type before the _available attributes was added by commit 5123960 ("iio:core: add a callback to allow drivers to provide _available attributes") and .info_mask_separate_available afterwards, and the regression happened. info_mask_shared_by_type is actually a better choice than the originally intended info_mask_separate for the ..._SCALE bit since a constant is returned from mpl3115_read_raw for the scale. Using info_mask_shared_by_type also preserves the behavior from before the regression and is therefore less likely to cause other interesting side effects. The above mentioned regression causes an unintended sysfs attibute to show up that is not backed by code, in turn causing the following NULL pointer defererence to happen on access. Segmentation fault Unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at virtual address 00000000 pgd = ecc3c000 [00000000] *pgd=87f91831 Internal error: Oops: 80000007 [GrapheneOS#1] SMP ARM Modules linked in: CPU: 1 PID: 1051 Comm: cat Not tainted 4.10.0-rc5-00009-gffd8858-dirty GrapheneOS#3 Hardware name: Freescale i.MX6 Quad/DualLite (Device Tree) task: ed54ec00 task.stack: ee2bc000 PC is at 0x0 LR is at iio_read_channel_info_avail+0x40/0x280 pc : [<00000000>] lr : [<c06fbc1c>] psr: a0070013 sp : ee2bdda8 ip : 00000000 fp : ee2bddf4 r10: c0a53c74 r9 : ed79f000 r8 : ee8d1018 r7 : 00001000 r6 : 00000fff r5 : ee8b9a00 r4 : ed79f000 r3 : ee2bddc4 r2 : ee2bddbc r1 : c0a86dcc r0 : ee8d1000 Flags: NzCv IRQs on FIQs on Mode SVC_32 ISA ARM Segment none Control: 10c5387d Table: 3cc3c04a DAC: 00000051 Process cat (pid: 1051, stack limit = 0xee2bc210) Stack: (0xee2bdda8 to 0xee2be000) dda0: ee2bddc0 00000002 c016d720 c016d394 ed54ec00 00000000 ddc0: 60070013 ed413780 00000001 edffd480 ee8b9a00 00000fff 00001000 ee8d1018 dde0: ed79f000 c0a53c74 ee2bde0c ee2bddf8 c0513c58 c06fbbe8 edffd480 edffd540 de00: ee2bde3c ee2bde10 c0293474 c0513c40 c02933e4 ee2bde60 00000001 ed413780 de20: 00000001 ed413780 00000000 edffd480 ee2bde4c ee2bde40 c0291d00 c02933f0 de40: ee2bde9c ee2bde50 c024679c c0291ce0 edffd4b0 b6e37000 00020000 ee2bdf78 de60: 00000000 00000000 ed54ec00 ed013200 00000817 c0a111fc edffd540 ed413780 de80: b6e37000 00020000 00020000 ee2bdf78 ee2bded4 ee2bdea0 c0292890 c0246604 dea0: c0117940 c016ba50 00000025 c0a111fc b6e37000 ed413780 ee2bdf78 00020000 dec0: ee2bc000 b6e37000 ee2bdf44 ee2bded8 c021d158 c0292770 c0117764 b6e36004 dee0: c0f0d7c4 ee2bdfb0 b6f89228 00021008 ee2bdfac ee2bdf00 c0101374 c0117770 df00: 00000000 00000000 ee2bc000 00000000 ee2bdf34 ee2bdf20 c016ba04 c0171080 df20: 00000000 00020000 ed413780 b6e37000 00000000 ee2bdf78 ee2bdf74 ee2bdf48 df40: c021e7a0 c021d130 c023e300 c023e280 ee2bdf74 00000000 00000000 ed413780 df60: ed413780 00020000 ee2bdfa4 ee2bdf78 c021e870 c021e71c 00000000 00000000 df80: 00020000 00020000 b6e37000 00000003 c0108084 00000000 00000000 ee2bdfa8 dfa0: c0107ee0 c021e838 00020000 00020000 00000003 b6e37000 00020000 0001a2b4 dfc0: 00020000 00020000 b6e37000 00000003 7fffe000 00000000 00000000 00020000 dfe0: 00000000 be98eb4c 0000c740 b6f1985c 60070010 00000003 00000000 00000000 Backtrace: [<c06fbbdc>] (iio_read_channel_info_avail) from [<c0513c58>] (dev_attr_show+0x24/0x50) r10:c0a53c74 r9:ed79f000 r8:ee8d1018 r7:00001000 r6:00000fff r5:ee8b9a00 r4:edffd480 [<c0513c34>] (dev_attr_show) from [<c0293474>] (sysfs_kf_seq_show+0x90/0x110) r5:edffd540 r4:edffd480 [<c02933e4>] (sysfs_kf_seq_show) from [<c0291d00>] (kernfs_seq_show+0x2c/0x30) r10:edffd480 r9:00000000 r8:ed413780 r7:00000001 r6:ed413780 r5:00000001 r4:ee2bde60 r3:c02933e4 [<c0291cd4>] (kernfs_seq_show) from [<c024679c>] (seq_read+0x1a4/0x4e0) [<c02465f8>] (seq_read) from [<c0292890>] (kernfs_fop_read+0x12c/0x1cc) r10:ee2bdf78 r9:00020000 r8:00020000 r7:b6e37000 r6:ed413780 r5:edffd540 r4:c0a111fc [<c0292764>] (kernfs_fop_read) from [<c021d158>] (__vfs_read+0x34/0x118) r10:b6e37000 r9:ee2bc000 r8:00020000 r7:ee2bdf78 r6:ed413780 r5:b6e37000 r4:c0a111fc [<c021d124>] (__vfs_read) from [<c021e7a0>] (vfs_read+0x90/0x11c) r8:ee2bdf78 r7:00000000 r6:b6e37000 r5:ed413780 r4:00020000 [<c021e710>] (vfs_read) from [<c021e870>] (SyS_read+0x44/0x90) r8:00020000 r7:ed413780 r6:ed413780 r5:00000000 r4:00000000 [<c021e82c>] (SyS_read) from [<c0107ee0>] (ret_fast_syscall+0x0/0x1c) r10:00000000 r8:c0108084 r7:00000003 r6:b6e37000 r5:00020000 r4:00020000 Code: bad PC value ---[ end trace 9c4938ccd0389004 ]--- Fixes: cc26ad4 ("iio: Add Freescale MPL3115A2 pressure / temperature sensor driver") Fixes: 5123960 ("iio:core: add a callback to allow drivers to provide _available attributes") Reported-by: Ken Lin <ken.lin@advantech.com> Tested-by: Ken Lin <ken.lin@advantech.com> Signed-off-by: Peter Rosin <peda@axentia.se> Signed-off-by: Jonathan Cameron <jic23@kernel.org> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org>

[ Upstream commit d5afb6f ] The code where sk_clone() came from created a new socket and locked it, but then, on the error path didn't unlock it. This problem stayed there for a long while, till b0691c8 ("net: Unlock sock before calling sk_free()") fixed it, but unfortunately the callers of sk_clone() (now sk_clone_locked()) were not audited and the one in dccp_create_openreq_child() remained. Now in the age of the syskaller fuzzer, this was finally uncovered, as reported by Dmitry: ---- 8< ---- I've got the following report while running syzkaller fuzzer on 86292b3 ("Merge branch 'akpm' (patches from Andrew)") [ BUG: held lock freed! ] 4.10.0+ #234 Not tainted ------------------------- syz-executor6/6898 is freeing memory ffff88006286cac0-ffff88006286d3b7, with a lock still held there! …FCP devices Suppose more than one non-NPIV FCP device is active on the same channel. Send I/O to storage and have some of the pending I/O run into a SCSI command timeout, e.g. due to bit errors on the fibre. Now the error situation stops. However, we saw FCP requests continue to timeout in the channel. The abort will be successful, but the subsequent TUR fails. Scsi_eh starts. The LUN reset fails. The target reset fails. The host reset only did an FCP device recovery. However, for non-NPIV FCP devices, this does not close and reopen ports on the SAN-side if other non-NPIV FCP device(s) share the same open ports. In order to resolve the continuing FCP request timeouts, we need to explicitly close and reopen ports on the SAN-side. This was missing since the beginning of zfcp in v2.6.0 history commit ea127f975424 ("[PATCH] s390 (7/7): zfcp host adapter."). Note: The FSF requests for forced port reopen could run into FSF request timeouts due to other reasons. This would trigger an internal FCP device recovery. Pending forced port reopen recoveries would get dismissed. So some ports might not get fully reopened during this host reset handler. However, subsequent I/O would trigger the above described escalation and eventually all ports would be forced reopen to resolve any continuing FCP request timeouts due to earlier bit errors. Only after insert_header success, it will be set to 'dir', otherwise 'header->parent' is set to NULL and drop_sysctl_table is called. However in err handling path of get_subdir, drop_sysctl_table also be called on 'new->header' regardless its value of parent pointer. Then put_links is called, which triggers NULL-ptr deref when access member of header->parent. In fact we have multiple error paths which call drop_sysctl_table() there, upon failure on insert_links() we also call drop_sysctl_table().And even in the successful case on __register_sysctl_table() we still always call drop_sysctl_table().This patch fix it. When a bpf program is uploaded, the driver computes the number of xdp tx queues resulting in the allocation of additional qsets. Starting from commit '2ecbe4f4a027 ("net: thunderx: replace global nicvf_rx_mode_wq work queue for all VFs to private for each of them")' the driver runs link state polling for each VF resulting in the following NULL pointer dereference: [ 56.169256] Unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at virtual address 0000000000000020 [ 56.178032] Mem abort info: [ 56.180834] ESR = 0x96000005 [ 56.183877] Exception class = DABT (current EL), IL = 32 bits [ 56.189792] SET = 0, FnV = 0 [ 56.192834] EA = 0, S1PTW = 0 [ 56.195963] Data abort info: [ 56.198831] ISV = 0, ISS = 0x00000005 [ 56.202662] CM = 0, WnR = 0 [ 56.205619] user pgtable: 64k pages, 48-bit VAs, pgdp = 0000000021f0c7a0 [ 56.212315] [0000000000000020] pgd=0000000000000000, pud=0000000000000000 [ 56.219094] Internal error: Oops: 96000005 [GrapheneOS#1] SMP [ 56.260459] CPU: 39 PID: 2034 Comm: ip Not tainted 5.1.0-rc3+ GrapheneOS#3 [ 56.266452] Hardware name: GIGABYTE R120-T33/MT30-GS1, BIOS T49 02/02/2018 [ 56.273315] pstate: 80000005 (Nzcv daif -PAN -UAO) [ 56.278098] pc : __ll_sc___cmpxchg_case_acq_64+0x4/0x20 [ 56.283312] lr : mutex_lock+0x2c/0x50 [ 56.286962] sp : ffff0000219af1b0 [ 56.290264] x29: ffff0000219af1b0 x28: ffff800f64de49a0 [ 56.295565] x27: 0000000000000000 x26: 0000000000000015 [ 56.300865] x25: 0000000000000000 x24: 0000000000000000 [ 56.306165] x23: 0000000000000000 x22: ffff000011117000 [ 56.311465] x21: ffff800f64dfc080 x20: 0000000000000020 [ 56.316766] x19: 0000000000000020 x18: 0000000000000001 [ 56.322066] x17: 0000000000000000 x16: ffff800f2e077080 [ 56.327367] x15: 0000000000000004 x14: 0000000000000000 [ 56.332667] x13: ffff000010964438 x12: 0000000000000002 [ 56.337967] x11: 0000000000000000 x10: 0000000000000c70 [ 56.343268] x9 : ffff0000219af120 x8 : ffff800f2e077d50 [ 56.348568] x7 : 0000000000000027 x6 : 000000062a9d6a84 [ 56.353869] x5 : 0000000000000000 x4 : ffff800f2e077480 [ 56.359169] x3 : 0000000000000008 x2 : ffff800f2e077080 [ 56.364469] x1 : 0000000000000000 x0 : 0000000000000020 [ 56.369770] Process ip (pid: 2034, stack limit = 0x00000000c862da3a) [ 56.376110] Call trace: [ 56.378546] __ll_sc___cmpxchg_case_acq_64+0x4/0x20 [ 56.383414] drain_workqueue+0x34/0x198 [ 56.387247] nicvf_open+0x48/0x9e8 [nicvf] [ 56.391334] nicvf_open+0x898/0x9e8 [nicvf] [ 56.395507] nicvf_xdp+0x1bc/0x238 [nicvf] [ 56.399595] dev_xdp_install+0x68/0x90 [ 56.403333] dev_change_xdp_fd+0xc8/0x240 [ 56.407333] do_setlink+0x8e0/0xbe8 [ 56.410810] __rtnl_newlink+0x5b8/0x6d8 [ 56.414634] rtnl_newlink+0x54/0x80 [ 56.418112] rtnetlink_rcv_msg+0x22c/0x2f8 [ 56.422199] netlink_rcv_skb+0x60/0x120 [ 56.426023] rtnetlink_rcv+0x28/0x38 [ 56.429587] netlink_unicast+0x1c8/0x258 [ 56.433498] netlink_sendmsg+0x1b4/0x350 [ 56.437410] sock_sendmsg+0x4c/0x68 [ 56.440887] ___sys_sendmsg+0x240/0x280 [ 56.444711] __sys_sendmsg+0x68/0xb0 [ 56.448275] __arm64_sys_sendmsg+0x2c/0x38 [ 56.452361] el0_svc_handler+0x9c/0x128 [ 56.456186] el0_svc+0x8/0xc [ 56.459056] Code: 35ffff91 2a1003e0 d65f03c0 f9800011 (c85ffc10) [ 56.465166] ---[ end trace 4a57fdc27b0a572c ]--- [ 56.469772] Kernel panic - not syncing: Fatal exception Fix it by checking nicvf_rx_mode_wq pointer in nicvf_open and nicvf_stop Fixes: 2ecbe4f ("net: thunderx: replace global nicvf_rx_mode_wq work queue for all VFs to private for each of them") Fixes: 2c632ad ("net: thunderx: move link state polling function to VF") Reported-by: Matteo Croce <mcroce@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Lorenzo Bianconi <lorenzo.bianconi@redhat.com> Tested-by: Matteo Croce <mcroce@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: David S. In NVMe's error handler, follows the typical steps of tearing down hardware for recovering controller: 1) stop blk_mq hw queues 2) stop the real hw queues 3) cancel in-flight requests via blk_mq_tagset_busy_iter(tags, cancel_request, ...) cancel_request(): mark the request as abort blk_mq_complete_request(req); 4) destroy real hw queues However, there may be race between GrapheneOS#3 and GrapheneOS#4, because blk_mq_complete_request() may run q->mq_ops->complete(rq) remotelly and asynchronously, and ->complete(rq) may be run after GrapheneOS#4. This patch introduces blk_mq_complete_request_sync() for fixing the above race. If `vmk80xx_auto_attach()` returns an error, the core comedi module code will call `vmk80xx_detach()` to clean up. If `vmk80xx_auto_attach()` successfully allocated the comedi device private data, `vmk80xx_detach()` assumes that a `struct semaphore limit_sem` contained in the private data has been initialized and uses it. Unfortunately, there are a couple of places where `vmk80xx_auto_attach()` can return an error after allocating the device private data but before initializing the semaphore, so this assumption is invalid. Fix it by initializing the semaphore just after allocating the private data in `vmk80xx_auto_attach()` before any other errors can be returned. If `ni6501_auto_attach()` returns an error, the core comedi module code will call `ni6501_detach()` to clean up. If `ni6501_auto_attach()` successfully allocated the comedi device private data, `ni6501_detach()` assumes that a `struct mutex mut` contained in the private data has been initialized and uses it. Unfortunately, there are a couple of places where `ni6501_auto_attach()` can return an error after allocating the device private data but before initializing the mutex, so this assumption is invalid. Fix it by initializing the mutex just after allocating the private data in `ni6501_auto_attach()` before any other errors can be retturned. Also move the call to `usb_set_intfdata()` just to keep the code a bit neater (either position for the call is fine). By calling maps__insert() we assume to get 2 references on the map, which we relese within maps__remove call. However if there's already same map name, we currently don't bump the reference and can crash, like: Program received signal SIGABRT, Aborted. 0x00007ffff75e60f5 in raise () from /lib64/libc.so.6 (gdb) bt #0 0x00007ffff75e60f5 in raise () from /lib64/libc.so.6 GrapheneOS#1 0x00007ffff75d0895 in abort () from /lib64/libc.so.6 GrapheneOS#2 0x00007ffff75d0769 in __assert_fail_base.cold () from /lib64/libc.so.6 GrapheneOS#3 0x00007ffff75de596 in __assert_fail () from /lib64/libc.so.6 GrapheneOS#4 0x00000000004fc006 in refcount_sub_and_test (i=1, r=0x1224e88) at tools/include/linux/refcount.h:131 GrapheneOS#5 refcount_dec_and_test (r=0x1224e88) at tools/include/linux/refcount.h:148 GrapheneOS#6 map__put (map=0x1224df0) at util/map.c:299 GrapheneOS#7 0x00000000004fdb95 in __maps__remove (map=0x1224df0, maps=0xb17d80) at util/map.c:953 GrapheneOS#8 maps__remove (maps=0xb17d80, map=0x1224df0) at util/map.c:959 GrapheneOS#9 0x00000000004f7d8a in map_groups__remove (map=<optimized out>, mg=<optimized out>) at util/map_groups.h:65 GrapheneOS#10 machine__process_ksymbol_unregister (sample=<optimized out>, event=0x7ffff7279670, machine=<optimized out>) at util/machine.c:728 GrapheneOS#11 machine__process_ksymbol (machine=<optimized out>, event=0x7ffff7279670, sample=<optimized out>) at util/machine.c:741 GrapheneOS#12 0x00000000004fffbb in perf_session__deliver_event (session=0xb11390, event=0x7ffff7279670, tool=0x7fffffffc7b0, file_offset=13936) at util/session.c:1362 GrapheneOS#13 0x00000000005039bb in do_flush (show_progress=false, oe=0xb17e80) at util/ordered-events.c:243 GrapheneOS#14 __ordered_events__flush (oe=0xb17e80, how=OE_FLUSH__ROUND, timestamp=<optimized out>) at util/ordered-events.c:322 GrapheneOS#15 0x00000000005005e4 in perf_session__process_user_event (session=session@entry=0xb11390, event=event@entry=0x7ffff72a4af8, ... Ido Schimmel says: ==================== mlxsw: Few small fixes Patch GrapheneOS#1, from Petr, adjusts mlxsw to provide the same QoS behavior for both Spectrum-1 and Spectrum-2. The fix is required due to a difference in the behavior of Spectrum-2 compared to Spectrum-1. The problem and solution are described in the detail in the changelog. Patch GrapheneOS#2 increases the time period in which the driver waits for the firmware to signal it has finished its initialization. The issue will be fixed in future firmware versions and the timeout will be decreased. Patch GrapheneOS#3, from Amit, fixes a display problem where the autoneg status in ethtool is not updated in case the netdev is not running. ==================== Signed-off-by: David S. After commit: 672ff6c ("KVM: x86: Raise #GP when guest vCPU do not support PMU") my AMD guests started #GPing like this: general protection fault: 0000 [GrapheneOS#1] PREEMPT SMP CPU: 1 PID: 4355 Comm: bash Not tainted 5.1.0-rc6+ GrapheneOS#3 Hardware name: QEMU Standard PC (i440FX + PIIX, 1996), BIOS 1.12.0-1 04/01/2014 RIP: 0010:x86_perf_event_update+0x3b/0xa0 with Code: pointing to RDPMC. It is RDPMC because the guest has the hardware watchdog CONFIG_HARDLOCKUP_DETECTOR_PERF enabled which uses perf. Instrumenting kvm_pmu_rdpmc() some, showed that it fails due to: if (!pmu->version) return 1; which the above commit added. Since AMD's PMU leaves the version at 0, that causes the #GP injection into the guest. Set pmu->version arbitrarily to 1 and move it above the non-applicable struct kvm_pmu members. KMSAN caught uninit-value in tcp_create_openreq_child() [1] This is caused by a recent change, combined by the fact that TCP cleared num_timeout, num_retrans and sk fields only when a request socket was about to be queued. Under syncookie mode, a temporary request socket is used, and req->num_timeout could contain garbage. Lets clear these three fields sooner, there is really no point trying to defer this and risk other bugs. …OL_MF_STRICT were specified When both MPOL_MF_MOVE* and MPOL_MF_STRICT was specified, mbind() should try best to migrate misplaced pages, if some of the pages could not be migrated, then return -EIO. There are three different sub-cases: 1. vma is not migratable 2. vma is migratable, but there are unmovable pages 3. vma is migratable, pages are movable, but migrate_pages() fails If GrapheneOS#1 happens, kernel would just abort immediately, then return -EIO, after a7f40cf ("mm: mempolicy: make mbind() return -EIO when MPOL_MF_STRICT is specified"). If GrapheneOS#3 happens, kernel would set policy and migrate pages with best-effort, but won't rollback the migrated pages and reset the policy back. Before that commit, they behaves in the same way. It'd better to keep their behavior consistent. But, rolling back the migrated pages and resetting the policy back sounds not feasible, so just make GrapheneOS#1 behave as same as GrapheneOS#3. Userspace will know that not everything was successfully migrated (via -EIO), and can take whatever steps it deems necessary - attempt rollback, determine which exact page(s) are violating the policy, etc. Make queue_pages_range() return 1 to indicate there are unmovable pages or vma is not migratable. The GrapheneOS#2 is not handled correctly in the current kernel, the following patch will fix it. Revert the commit bd293d0. The proper fix has been made available with commit d0a255e ("loop: set PF_MEMALLOC_NOIO for the worker thread"). Note that the fix offered by commit bd293d0 doesn't really prevent the deadlock from occuring - if we look at the stacktrace reported by Junxiao Bi, we see that it hangs in bit_wait_io and not on the mutex - i.e. it has already successfully taken the mutex. Changing the mutex from mutex_lock to mutex_trylock won't help with deadlocks that happen afterwards. …s_blob() Calling ceph_buffer_put() in __ceph_build_xattrs_blob() may result in freeing the i_xattrs.blob buffer while holding the i_ceph_lock.
