Note

Previous versions of Temp_Cleaner GUI (probably including this one) might be falsely detected as malware/PUP by many antivirus software, This happens because in previous versions I used UPX to compress the executable and other binary files in the program's files and this triggers many antivirus software.

Fixed Layout issues with HiDPi Displays (Scaling > 100%)

What's new in version 6.1-stable:

• Fixed the issue where main functionality buttons(*) get out of their original position when using a HiDPi Display (Scaling > 100%), Thanks Mark Drummond for reporting this issue in Temp_Cleaner GUI's Support Tickets: See: ticket #1: No icon to execute a clean.

Added Windows Update Delivery Optimization Cleaning + Major Bug Fixes

What's new in version 6.0-stable:

• Fixed the error that appears to the user when Temp_Cleaner GUI starts with no active internet connection when auto update feature is enabled
• Now the program will start even while it is checking for updates availability
• An error message will appear when you attempt to launch the updater program within the About window when there is no active internet connection.
• Now the program will actively look for the path it is stored in and load program files from it and change the current working directory to it (Useful in situations when you may want to launch the program as NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM user)

Major bug fixes over previous version (v5.6-stable)

What's new in version 5.8-testing?

• Fixed the error that appears when user starts Temp_Cleaner GUI without internet connected, or with unstable internet connection
• Now the updater program will check for updates after launching the main Temp_Cleaner GUI's window.
• An error message will appear when the user attempts to launch the updater program from the "About" window when there is no active internet connection.
• The program will redirect it's cwd (current working directory) automatically to the path where Temp_Cleaner GUI executable is stored (ex. C:\Program Files\Temp_Cleaner GUI v5.8-testing (x64)), This is useful in many cases like when you try to launch Temp_Cleaner GUI as user NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM via a 3rd party program

Unfortunately since this is a beta testing release, Probably there won't be official downloads for this release, but the good news is that you can still compile it yourself using the method shown below

How to compile v5.8-testing?

• Download and install Python 3.11 from python.org
• Install pyinstaller by typing the following command:

pip install pyinstaller
rem If it doesn't work, try this command instead
py -m pip install pyinstaller

• Create a working directory (ex. C:\tcgworkdir)

mkdir tcgworkdir
cd tcgworkdir

• Clone this repo using git

git clone https://github.com/insertx2k/temp_cleaner_gui

• Navigate to the folder temp_cleaner_gui

cd temp_cleaner_gui

• Now you can use pyinstaller to compile this program, use the following command line to do that:

• Don't forget to replace <tcg_files_dir> with the full path of the working directory you've created in the first step and cloned this repo files into (ex. C:\tcgworkdir\temp_cleaner_gui)

Pro tip: You can copy this command line and paste it in a new text file and use the "Replace" function in "Edit" menubar of notepad window to make things easier.

What's new in version 5.6-stable?

• Our program now uses the customtkinter framework (which is based on the tkinter framework)
  
  

• Fixed the issue where widgets are oversized on 1024x768 or lower displays.

• Created a separate banner file for low resolution displays (named bannerlowres.png, and is available in the installation directory of the program). (***)

• Our program now includes an Updater program, Say good bye to having to priodically visiting the Temp_Cleaner GUI's website to check if there is a new update or not.(**)

(**)-Updates may take longer than an hour from announcing time to arrive to all users (including you), This function is also experiemental which means that it might not function properly in some cases, It is strongly recommended that you keep an eye on our website and not depend on this function primarily, Requires a stable Internet connection.
(***)-For the low resolution banner to be shown, you must be using a monitor/display with resolution of 1024x768 or lower, Your display resolution may be changed later any time from PC Settings>System>Display>Screen Resolution or Control Panel.
(****)-You will no longer be able to use the custom UI cursors feature from version 5.1-stable, and will also no longer be able to access it's files that used to exist in version 5.1-stable.
(*****)-The new redesigned About window allows you to access different features such as Launching the Updater program without the need to restart Temp_Cleaner GUI, Accessing Temp_Cleaner GUI's Website by a click of a button, and accessing various information about this release of Temp_Cleaner GUI.
