Map info panel
-
streamlined presentation of map information for quicker scanning and better overview
-
map mods can be individually customized and hidden
-
the panel is click-through, i.e. clicks will not be blocked
-
the panel can be freely positioned anywhere on the screen
-
main UI-elements:
-
map-info panel divided into two parts
-
map-mod customization panel
-
-
this feature has its own section in the settings menu, with UI and customization options
- the 'gamescreen' pixel-check has to be set up in the settings menu in order to use this feature
-
navigate to the map-info section in the settings menu and customize the font-size and opacity to your liking
-
to load a map, hover over it and press the omni-key (default: middle mouse)
-
you can customize the loaded map mods by right-clicking the smaller of the two sections within the panel
-
a panel with the mods will appear where you can assign difficulty values to each mod
-
assigning 0 will hide the mod from now on, 1 will show it in white, 2 in yellow, 3 in red, and 4 in purple
-
this window closes by pressing the ESC-key
-
tip: you can tab between the number fields for faster input
-
-
left-clicking the smaller section will toggle the mod-list, similar to how the in-game mod-list can be toggled
things to consider:
-
every map mod can be customized to suit your build's characteristics
-
it's up to you how to tier the mods and how many tiers you use
-
for example: 4 could be for impossible mods, 3 for hard ones, 2 for medium ones, and 1 for normal ones
-
you can also choose to only use three tiers
-
use the search bar in the settings menu to look up map mods and customize their presentation
- this search uses the original wording of map mods as they are in the game
- this is inspired by a community mockup that had been posted in the past and was brought up again shortly before the launch of sentinel
- I also don't like how the in-game panel sometimes blocks a significant part of the screen
