Cake image is the unrolled diffraction image. It is not a raw data image but contains important information which cannot be obtained from a diffraction pattern.

PeakPo plots a cake image of your base pattern directly above the base pattern, assisting accurate peak identification.

Open a poni file

In order to process a tif image file to a cake image, PeakPo needs to know the calibration parameters. Therefore, a poni file should be provided first.

You may input a poni file by pressing the Get PONI push button in the Cake tab.

Plot a cake image

PeakPo assumes that your tif file has the same file name as your base pattern file (only difference is the file extension) and exists in the same folder where the base pattern is located. Therefore, it won't ask you to find the tif file. As soon as a poni file is provided, PeakPo processes the related tif to a cake image. PeakPo does not plot raw tif image.

Change the vertical size of a cake image

In the View box of the Cake tab, PeakPo provides a slide bar for the vertical size of the cake image.
