[ Upstream commit 6a3b45a ] MIXER on Exynos5 SoCs uses different synchronisation method than Exynos4 to update internal state (shadow registers). Apparently the driver implements it incorrectly. The rule should be as follows: - do not request updating registers until previous request was finished, ie. MXR_CFG_LAYER_UPDATE_COUNT must be 0. - before setting registers synchronisation on VSYNC should be turned off, ie. MXR_STATUS_SYNC_ENABLE should be reset, - after finishing MXR_STATUS_SYNC_ENABLE should be set again. The patch hopefully implements it correctly. The disc is "Samsung SSD 850 PRO 256G" which supports TRIM. There are four partitions: sda1: FAT /boot sda2: F2FS / sda3: F2FS /home sda4: F2FS The bridge is ASMT1153e which uses the "uas" driver. There is no TRIM pass-through, so, when mounting it reports: mounting with "discard" option, but the device does not support discard The USB host is USB3.0 and UASP capable. It is the one on RK3399. Given this everything works fine, except there is no TRIM support. [ Upstream commit cd24e45 ] When a PRRN event is received we are already running in a worker thread. Instead of spawning off another worker thread on the prrn_work workqueue to handle the PRRN event we can just call the PRRN handler routine directly. With this update we can also pass the scope variable for the PRRN event directly to the handler instead of it being a global variable. [ Upstream commit bd18bff ] A VMEnter that VMFails (as opposed to VMExits) does not touch host state beyond registers that are explicitly noted in the VMFail path, e.g. EFLAGS. Host state does not need to be loaded because VMFail is only signaled for consistency checks that occur before the CPU starts to load guest state, i.e. there is no need to restore any state as nothing has been modified. But in the case where a VMFail is detected by hardware and not by KVM (due to deferring consistency checks to hardware), KVM has already loaded some amount of guest state. Luckily, "loaded" only means loaded to KVM's software model, i.e. vmcs01 has not been modified. So, unwind our software model to the pre-VMEntry host state. Not restoring host state in this VMFail path leads to a variety of failures because we end up with stale data in vcpu->arch, e.g. CR0, CR4, EFER, etc... will all be out of sync relative to vmcs01. Any significant delta in the stale data is all but guaranteed to crash L1, e.g. emulation of SMEP, SMAP, UMIP, WP, etc... will be wrong. An alternative to this "soft" reload would be to load host state from vmcs12 as if we triggered a VMExit (as opposed to VMFail), but that is wildly inconsistent with respect to the VMX architecture, e.g. an L1 VMM with separate VMExit and VMFail paths would explode. Note that this approach does not mean KVM is 100% accurate with respect to VMX hardware behavior, even at an architectural level (the exact order of consistency checks is microarchitecture specific). But 100% emulation accuracy isn't the goal (with this patch), rather the goal is to be consistent in the information delivered to L1, e.g. a VMExit should not fall-through VMENTER, and a VMFail should not jump to HOST_RIP. This technically reverts commit "5af4157388ad (KVM: nVMX: Fix mmu context after VMLAUNCH/VMRESUME failure)", but retains the core aspects of that patch, just in an open coded form due to the need to pull state from vmcs01 instead of vmcs12. Restoring host state resolves a variety of issues introduced by commit "4f350c6dbcb9 (kvm: nVMX: Handle deferred early VMLAUNCH/VMRESUME failure properly)", which remedied the incorrect behavior of treating VMFail like VMExit but in doing so neglected to restore arch state that had been modified prior to attempting nested VMEnter. A sample failure that occurs due to stale vcpu.arch state is a fault of some form while emulating an LGDT (due to emulated UMIP) from L1 after a failed VMEntry to L3, in this case when running the KVM unit test test_tpr_threshold_values in L1. [ Upstream commit 69216a5 ] The SHA256 code we adopted from the OpenSSL project uses a rather peculiar way to take the address of the round constant table: it takes the address of the sha256_block_data_order() routine, and substracts a constant known quantity to arrive at the base of the table, which is emitted by the same assembler code right before the routine's entry point. However, recent versions of binutils have helpfully changed the behavior of references emitted via an ADR instruction when running in Thumb2 mode: it now takes the Thumb execution mode bit into account, which is bit 0 af the address. [ Upstream commit 4063384 ] Before blamed commit, pskb_may_pull() was used instead of skb_header_pointer() in __vlan_get_protocol() and friends. [ Upstream commit 56077b5 ] When doing link mtu negotiation, a malicious peer may send Activate msg with a very small mtu, e.g. 4 in Shuang's testing, without checking for the minimum mtu, l->mtu will be set to 4 in tipc_link_proto_rcv(), then n->links[bearer_id].mtu is set to 4294967228, which is a overflow of '4 - INT_H_SIZE - EMSG_OVERHEAD' in tipc_link_mss(). commit 7e01c7f upstream. Currently in cdc_ncm_check_tx_max(), if dwNtbOutMaxSize is lower than the calculated "min" value, but greater than zero, the logic sets tx_max to dwNtbOutMaxSize. This is then used to allocate a new SKB in cdc_ncm_fill_tx_frame() where all the data is handled. For small values of dwNtbOutMaxSize the memory allocated during alloc_skb(dwNtbOutMaxSize, GFP_ATOMIC) will have the same size, due to how size is aligned at alloc time: size = SKB_DATA_ALIGN(size); size += SKB_DATA_ALIGN(sizeof(struct skb_shared_info)); Thus we hit the same bug that we tried to squash with commit 2be6d4d ("net: cdc_ncm: Allow for dwNtbOutMaxSize to be unset or zero") Low values of dwNtbOutMaxSize do not cause an issue presently because at alloc_skb() time more memory (512b) is allocated than required for the SKB headers alone (320b), leaving some space (512b - 320b = 192b) for CDC data (172b). However, if more elements (for example 3 x u64 = [24b]) were added to one of the SKB header structs, say 'struct skb_shared_info', increasing its original size (320b [320b aligned]) to something larger (344b [384b aligned]), then suddenly the CDC data (172b) no longer fits in the spare SKB data area (512b - 384b = 128b). [ Upstream commit 691c041 ] Cited commit causes ABBA deadlock[0] when peer flows are created while holding the devcom rw semaphore. Due to peer flows offload implementation the lock is taken much higher up the call chain and there is no obvious way to easily fix the deadlock. Instead, since tc route query code needs the peer eswitch structure only to perform a lookup in xarray and doesn't perform any sleeping operations with it, refactor the code for lockless execution in following ways: - RCUify the devcom 'data' pointer. When resetting the pointer synchronously wait for RCU grace period before returning. This is fine since devcom is currently only used for synchronization of pairing/unpairing of eswitches which is rare and already expensive as-is. - Wrap all usages of 'paired' boolean in {READ|WRITE}_ONCE(). The flag has already been used in some unlocked contexts without proper annotations (e.g. users of mlx5_devcom_is_paired() function), but it wasn't an issue since all relevant code paths checked it again after obtaining the devcom semaphore. Now it is also used by mlx5_devcom_get_peer_data_rcu() as "best effort" check to return NULL when devcom is being unpaired. Note that while RCU read lock doesn't prevent the unpaired flag from being changed concurrently it still guarantees that reader can continue to use 'data'. - Refactor mlx5e_tc_query_route_vport() function to use new mlx5_devcom_get_peer_data_rcu() API which fixes the deadlock. commit d1d8875 upstream. [ cmllamas: clean forward port from commit 015ac18 ("binder: fix UAF of alloc->vma in race with munmap()") in 5.10 stable. It is needed in mainline after the revert of commit a43cfc8 ("android: binder: stop saving a pointer to the VMA") as pointed out by Liam. The commit log and tags have been tweaked to reflect this. ] In commit 720c241 ("ANDROID: binder: change down_write to down_read") binder assumed the mmap read lock is sufficient to protect alloc->vma inside binder_update_page_range(). This used to be accurate until commit dd2283f ("mm: mmap: zap pages with read mmap_sem in munmap"), which now downgrades the mmap_lock after detaching the vma from the rbtree in munmap(). Then it proceeds to teardown and free the vma with only the read lock held. [ Upstream commit 4faeee0 ] Historically connect(AF_UNSPEC) has been abused by syzkaller and other fuzzers to trigger various bugs. A recent one triggers a divide-by-zero [1], and Paolo Abeni was able to diagnose the issue. tcp_recvmsg_locked() has tests about sk_state being not TCP_LISTEN and TCP REPAIR mode being not used. Then later if socket lock is released in sk_wait_data(), another thread can call connect(AF_UNSPEC), then make this socket a TCP listener. When recvmsg() is resumed, it can eventually call tcp_cleanup_rbuf() and attempt a divide by 0 in tcp_rcv_space_adjust() [1] This patch adds a new socket field, counting number of threads blocked in sk_wait_event() and inet_wait_for_connect(). If this counter is not zero, tcp_disconnect() returns an error. This patch adds code in blocking socket system calls, thus should not hurt performance of non blocking ones. Since there is no content(SDRT_NONE) for the response, just return and skip the response handling to avoid this problem. All the RMBs in use will be mapped to the new link. Then the RMBs' MRs corresponding to the new link will be filled into LLC messages. For SMCRv1, they are ADD LINK CONT messages. However smc_llc_add_link_cont() may mistakenly access to unused RMBs which haven't been mapped to the new link and have no valid MRs, thus causing a crash. So this patch fixes it. [ Upstream commit 24e2278 ] syzkaller found a repro that causes Hung Task [0] with ipset. The repro first creates an ipset and then tries to delete a large number of IPs from the ipset concurrently: IPSET_ATTR_IPADDR_IPV4 : 172.20.20.187 IPSET_ATTR_CIDR : 2 The first deleting thread hogs a CPU with nfnl_lock(NFNL_SUBSYS_IPSET) held, and other threads wait for it to be released. Previously, the same issue existed in set->variant->uadt() that could run so long under ip_set_lock(set). Commit 5e29dc3 ("netfilter: ipset: Rework long task execution when adding/deleting entries") tried to fix it, but the issue still exists in the caller with another mutex. While adding/deleting many IPs, we should release the CPU periodically to prevent someone from abusing ipset to hang the system. The CmprI and CmprE fields indicate the number of prefix octets that are shared with the IPv6 Destination Address. When CmprI or CmprE is not 0, Addresses[1..n] are compressed as follows: 1..n-1 : (16 - CmprI) bytes n : (16 - CmprE) bytes Segments Left indicates the number of route segments remaining. When the value is not zero, the SRH is forwarded to the next hop. Its address is extracted from Addresses[n - Segment Left + 1] and swapped with IPv6 Destination Address. When Segment Left is greater than or equal to 2, the size of SRH is not changed because Addresses[1..n-1] are decompressed and recompressed with CmprI. OTOH, when Segment Left changes from 1 to 0, the new SRH could have a different size because Addresses[1..n-1] are decompressed with CmprI and recompressed with CmprE. Let's say CmprI is 15 and CmprE is 0. When we receive SRH with Segment Left >= 2, Addresses[1..n-1] have 1 byte for each, and Addresses[n] has 16 bytes. When Segment Left is 1, Addresses[1..n-1] is decompressed to 16 bytes and not recompressed. Finally, the new SRH will need more room in the header, and the size is (16 - 1) * (n - 1) bytes. Here the max value of n is 255 as Segment Left is u8, so in the worst case, we have to allocate 3825 bytes in the skb headroom. However, now we only allocate a small fixed buffer that is IPV6_RPL_SRH_WORST_SWAP_SIZE (16 + 7 bytes). If the decompressed size overflows the room, skb_push() hits BUG() below [0]. Instead of allocating the fixed buffer for every packet, let's allocate enough headroom only when we receive SRH with Segment Left 1. Current implementation assigns these pointers at snd_soc_dai_driver startup() callback and reset them back to NULL at shutdown(). But soc_pcm_open() sequence uses DMA pointers in dmaengine_pcm_open() before snd_soc_dai_driver startup(). Most generic DMA capable I2S drivers use snd_soc_dai_driver probe() callback to init DMA pointers only once at probe. So move DMA init to dw_i2s_dai_probe and drop shutdown() and startup() callbacks. [ Upstream commit 691b048 ] - When a iSER session is released, ib_isert module is taking a mutex lock and releasing all pending connections. As part of this, ib_isert is destroying rdma cm_id. To destroy cm_id, rdma_cm module is sending CM events to CMA handler of ib_isert. This handler is taking same mutex lock. Hence it leads to deadlock between ib_isert & rdma_cm modules. - For fix, created local list of pending connections and release the connection outside of mutex lock.
