Working Title CJ4 v0.8.1 Changes

Welcome to the Working Title CJ4 v0.8.1. This is a point release to address some of the issues seen this week with version 0.8.0. This version remains a beta release. Please report any issues found to our Issues tracker on our GitHub repository.

Installation

Installation is easy, simply copy the workingtitle-aircraft-cj4 folder inside the zip file to your MSFS Community folder.

Important: We recommend that you fully delete the previous workingtitle-aircraft-cj4 folder before copying this release.

Remarks to flight plan synchronization between the Game and FMS

Our recommendation is to keep FP Sync off.
You can still "file" your flight plan to ATC by entering it in the world map of MSFS and it will remain visible to ATC/VFR.

To then load the plan into the FMS you can either enter it manually or use the FPLN RECALL (GAME/SB) option in IDX -> PAGE2 -> ROUTE MENU

Due to the increased accuracy and capabilities of the FMC managed flight plan, you may find that the sync to the game does not always work as expected or does not reflect the FMC flight plan.

KEY FEATURES

  • Added VFR runway approaches - in DEP/ARR you can now choose a VFR runway for landing and specify a runway extension waypoint to be added to the flight plan as far as 25nm from the runway. This allows you to 'roll your own' LNAV/VNAV approach to any runway at any airport. Great for small/private fields! https://streamable.com/idloxs
  • Fixed issue when resuming VNAV climbs and fixed issue when setting missed approach altitude during an RNAV approach with GP.

Compatibility

  • Removed old unused files that were causing a compatibility issue with WT Garmin units and the FBW A32NX

RNAV

  • Fixed an issue where GP would stop descending and capture an altitude when the altitude preselector was moved (i.e. to the missed approach altitude)
  • Fixed an issue where sometimes the active waypoint would sequence to the airport and take the plane off course on an RNAV approach.

MCP

  • Fixed an issue where the CRS would not accept input sometimes while not in LNV or NAV mode

PFD

  • Numerous fantastic cosmetic accuracy updates (contribution by TheFlieger)
  • FMS mach value now always shows only two digits
  • Updated BARO indications to show when STD has been set; updated BARO knob to always set STD pressure when pressed

MFD

  • Numerous fantastic cosmetic accuracy updates (contribution by TheFlieger)
  • Shows IGN indication on engine ignition during startup
  • Don't show TOD marker on map when in Approach Mode

SAI

  • Fixed the baro setting rounding error

FMC

  • LEGS page will no longer intepret entries of lower than FL500 as speed restrictions
  • LEGS order of AB restrictions should now be correct
  • FPLN now allows proper entry of 3 letter ICAO airport codes
  • FPLN selecting Origin or Destination will put the ICAO into the scratchpad
  • Visual approach (runway extension fix) capabilty added to the DEP/ARR page
  • Pressing LSK next to origin and dest will now copy ICAO to the scratchpad
  • FMC should no longer blackscreen when going to the ARR DATA page
  • FP Sync option will now actually be active when set to enabled
  • Added new option "FPLN RECALL (GAME)" to Route Menu to sync the flight plan from world map to the FMS

Flight Plan Manager

  • Fixed issue where some track-to-radial-intercept legs were being dropped from procedures
  • Changed behavior of FP Sync on flight start
  • When FP Sync is off: ATC/VFR plan remains but FMS plan is empty. Enter the flight plan manually or use the FPLN RECALL options

LNAV

  • Fixed issue where LNAV would get stuck in a swapping full left then right bank oscillation

Sound

  • Wind, Spoiler Drag and external engine sounds should now be played on the right audio bus so it doesn't play during pause & volume can be adjusted.

⚠️ Known Issues

  • Sync to the game flightplan (ATC/VFR Map) is very much work in progress and turned off by default. You can enable this feature in MOD SETTINGS on the FMC.
  • Some external applications that use the GPS/Flight plan SimVars may not function correctly or as expected.
  • Loading and saving flights can have bad results.
  • Custom liveries can render FADEC inoperative if they ship with a panel.cfg. You must uninstall them or remove their panel.cfg from the livery folder. This is a limitation of the Asobo livery system.
  • Autopilot modes cannot be triggered via keybindings or controllers and must currently be triggered in the cockpit with the mouse.
  • TOD sometimes will flash on the PFD during an approach.
  • Sometimes a heading to altitude instruction on takeoff will display further than the first RNAV fix on an RNAV departure procedure; in these cases the workaround is to cross-check the DP chart and remove the erroneous waypoint either by deleting the heading to altitude fix or dropping the first RNAV fix onto the magenta line in the LEGS page.
  • Due to sim autopilot bank rate limitations, the aircraft may overshoot on certain RNP approaches with tight turns. If you encounter this, we recommend hand flying the approach with the given lateral and vertical guidance.
  • Sometimes when turning more than 90 degrees onto an approach segment, VNAV might give a NOPATH condition because it sees that you are too high. Engage FLC or VS and descend down and it should recapture the path.
  • Very long legs may display some constant cross track deviation on the map and course needles. The plane will still track properly towards the fix. This will be addressed later in the beta.
  • The FMS now builds turn anticipation into direct-to course projection. However, you will still encounter some overshoot beyond 90 or so degrees.
  • If for whatever reason, you find that VNAV is not behaving as expected, try and turn it off and on again.

🎅 Have fun! 🎅

Working Title CJ4 v0.7.3 Changes

Welcome to the latest update of the Working Title CJ4 (v0.7.3). This is a hotfix for adjusting the autopilot PIDs to temporarily work around the lateral guidance issues some users are experiencing in MSFS update 1.11.6.0!. You should see much improved lateral guidance accuracy, and should not see significant deviations pointing away from the desired track.

Thanks to FBW for the report and help, and Philip, Sebastian, and the team Asobo for forwarding a solution to this pressing issue and continuing to field our inquiries with such patience.

Installation

Installation is easy, simply copy the workingtitle-aircraft-cj4 folder inside the zip file to your MSFS Community folder.

Important: We recommend that you fully delete the previous workingtitle-aircraft-cj4 folder before copying this release.

Changes

  • Changed Autopilot PID values to get rid of lateral navigation problems introduced with MSFS update 1.11.6.0

Known Issues

  • Altitude constraints are not currently selectable on the map due to incorrect data being displayed.
  • The speed constraints on arrivals may not show correctly because of database issues.
  • After using Direct-To, the navigation will not always automatically sequence to the next fix and may enter ROL mode. You can re-activate NAV to navigate to the next fix if you encounter this issue.
  • The aircraft is still using the built-in MSFS autopilot (for now). All the existing limitations of that still apply. It does behave a bit better with the various enhancements applied.
  • Some flight plan distances may still be misreported when the approach is activated. Please log an issue if you encounter this with details.
  • Some instances of the autopilot skipping approach waypoints still occur - this is deep in the sim handling of waypoints and is, for now, out of our hands. We will continue to research this.

Working Title CJ4 v0.7.2 Changes

Welcome to the latest update of the Working Title CJ4 (v0.7.2).
This is a hotfix for v0.7.1 for some compatibility changes after MSFS update 1.11.6.0! Thanks to all the helpful folks who contributed to this release.

Important Feature Change from v0.7.0 Onward

The active flight plan route will no longer be displayed in the ARC or ROSE modes. This is accurate to the actual aircraft. The ARC and ROSE modes are designed to work with the course pointer system. If you would like to see the flight plan route, you must use the PPOS display mode (very similar to ARC, except with the active flight plan instead of pointers) or the PLAN mode.

To activate the new altitude select range indicator (altitude banana), press DSPL MENU on the FMC, then go to page 2. Press LSK3L to activate the indicator. The indicator will only be displayed in the PPOS mode.

Working Title G3000

Latest version: v0.3.2

Description

This is a mod for MSFS2020 that aims to improve the in-game G3000 and G5000. The goal is to bring functionality closer to the real-life units, with a focus on both features and layout/UI.

This mod was created with cross-compatibility in mind. It modifies the minimum number of base files possible to achieve its goals, so it should be compatible with most other mods, including all other WorkingTitle mods. However, because of the nature of the mod, it will conflict with other mods that make changes to the G3000.

Installation

Download workingtitle-g3000-v0.3.2.zip from the Github release page. Do not download the Source code files unless you are sure you want those.

To install, copy the workingtitle-g3000 folder from the zip file into your Community directory.

Release Highlights (v0.3.2)

  • Brought up to date with game patch 1.10.11.0 (Update 6).

Highlights for v0.3.1

  • Improved compatibility with the WorkingTitle CJ4 mod.
  • Fixed an issue where on the navigational map, waypoints in a flight plan sometimes had missing labels.
  • City labels no longer appear in the weather radar screens.

Highlights for v0.3.0

  • Now fully compatible with the Cessna Citation Longitude.
  • The touchscreen controller UI style has been completely revamped through integration of StuTozer/ElectrikKar's Touchscreen Restyled Mod as well as numerous additional changes.
  • The MFD navigation data bar is now customizable.

Fixes

  • [Misc] Display brightness is now saved between sessions for the TBM 930.
  • [PFD] The Terrain softkey no longer displays a value of "undefined".
  • [PFD] Terrain mode and DCLTR settings for the inset map now save correctly between sessions.
  • [TSC] Fixed an issue where the pressing the down button in the active flight plan page would cause a CTD under certain circumstances. Also generally improved the scroll behavior in the active flight plan page.
  • [NavMap] Fixed a bug where the track vector overlay would disappear under certain conditions.
  • [NavMap] Performance optimizations for the city display.
  • [NAVCOM] Fixed a bug where changing the ADF frequency in the touchscreen controller's Audio/Radio page would lead to unexpected changes in NAV frequencies.

Known Issues

  • [Stability] (Vanilla issue) Sometimes the PFD will freeze when transitioning to an approach loaded into the flight plan. The PFD may unfreeze when you reach the second waypoint in the approach.
  • [Stability] (Vanilla issue) The game sometimes freezes or CTDs when editing the flight plan using the touchscreen controller flight plan menu.
  • [PFD] (Vanilla issue) Co-pilot PFD softkeys are nonfunctional in the TBM 930.
  • [NavMap] (Vanilla issue) The road overlay for the navigational map will sometimes fail to draw roads close to the aircraft, instead prioritizing roads farther away. This usually only happens when the map range is set to large values (>100 NM).
  • [NavMap] (Vanilla issue) Sometimes airport symbols will not update on the navmap. Zooming in then back out will usually fix it.
  • [NavMap] At large map ranges (>250 NM), map symbols may not line up correctly with the underlying terrain. This is because the terrain map is projected differently from the symbols. The effect is worse at the edges of the map and also worse at high latitudes.

FAQ

  • Q: I copied the mod folder to my Community folder but don't get any of the new features. What do I do?
    • A: Make sure you downloaded the correct mod folder. It should be named workingtitle-g3000 and be contained in a .zip file named workingtitle-g3000-v[version number].
  • Q: Why do I no longer have synthetic vision on the PFD after installing the mod?
    • A: The mod introduces the option to toggle synthetic vision on/off and the setting defaults to off. To turn it back on, use the touchscreen controllers and navigate to PFD Home -> PFD Settings -> SVT Terrain Enable. Alternatively, for the TBM 930 only, use the PFD softkeys to navigate to PFD Settings -> Altitude Overlays -> Synthetic Terrain.
  • Q: When I copy the mod folder to my Community folder, why do I get an error saying the file path name is too long?
    • A: This is a Windows issue. By default, Windows limits file paths to 260 characters. You can disable this limit by modifying the system registry (not as scary as it sounds). Tutorials for how to do so can easily be found with a Google (or Bing) search.
  • Q: Why do I sometimes get low performance/FPS with the mod?
    • A: The biggest performance impact of the mod is the display of features and especially text labels on the navigational map. This is technically also true with vanilla, but the mod increases the number of features and therefore labels that can be displayed on the map at once, which exaggerates the issue. To limit the performance impact, toggle map features off or change their max range settings so that the map is not cluttered with too many features at once.

Working Title CJ4 v0.7.1 Changes

Welcome to the latest update of the Working Title CJ4 (v0.7.1). This is a hotfix for v0.7.0 but also brings lights to the lower CCP panel!
