Additional requirements:

  • For existing rewards users that have not been presented with the onboarding experience, there should be a card or other UI element that allows them to initiate the tour.

  2. Rewards onboarding string changes #13488 (comment) - the designs are missing a comma on the final slide but the browser has this punctuation, it is expected.

  2. Join Rewards, disable Ads. Refresh page to confirm Ads still off. When you do this you will get the onboarding modal (this is a bug). Close this modal via "x".
  3. Update to 1.20.96
  4. Open panel --> no onboarding
  5. Navigate to brave://rewards page --> regular Rewards page with Ads OFF and AC ON as before upgrade is shown, with onboarding tour promo card displayed

  2. Open panel, dismiss onboarding. Visit brave.com. Confirm publisher info displays in the panel.
  3. Update to 1.20.100
  4. Open panel --> no onboarding shown
  5. Navigate to brave://rewards page --> full-page onboarding (not modal)
Upgrade Scenario 3 - upgrading from 1.19.x, dismissed onboarding from brave://rewards but never opened the panel
  1. Install 1.19.88
  2. Open brave://rewards, dismiss onboarding.
  3. Update to 1.20.100
  4. Open panel --> onboarding modal shown
  5. Navigate to brave://rewards page --> no onboarding at all (full page or modal, just regular Rewards page with Ads and AC off as before upgrade.
Upgrade Scenario 4 - upgrading from 1.19.x, Ads ON and AC OFF
  1. Install 1.19.88
  2. Join Rewards, disable AC.
  3. Update to 1.20.100
  4. Open panel --> no onboarding
  5. Navigate to brave://rewards page --> no onboarding at all (full page or modal, just regular Rewards page with Ads ON and AC OFF as before the upgrade.
Upgrade Scenario 5 - upgrading from 1.19.x, Ads OFF and AC ON
  1. Install 1.19.88
  2. Join Rewards, disable Ads.
  3. Update to 1.20.100
  4. Open panel --> no onboarding
  5. Navigate to brave://rewards page --> regular Rewards page with Ads OFF and AC ON as before upgrade is shown, with onboarding tour promo card displayed
Upgrade Scenario 6 - upgrading from 1.19.x, Ads and AC ON
  1. Install 1.19.88
  2. Join Rewards.
  3. Update to 1.20.100
  4. Open panel --> no onboarding
  5. Navigate to brave://rewards page --> regular Rewards page with Ads and AC ON as before upgrade is shown
