Hyper V (Virtual Machine)

In case Oracle VM VirtualBox does not work on Windows x64 [Pro or Enterprise edition] machine for any reason, Windows Hyper-V could be set up to run the virtual machine. Running virtual machine in Hyper-V is a three-step process.

  1.   Installing Hyper-V

Please install Hyper-V for Windows using the tutorial.

  1.   Downloading Vivo hard disk image

Copy the hard disk image from the following location and save it on your local hard-drive. https://www.ubuntu.com/download/desktop

  1.  Setting up Hyper-V VM

Open Hyper-V manager, select New -> Virtual Machine -> Next -> Enter "Any preferred named" -> Next -> select Generation 1 -> Next -> Enter startup memory, "7168 or whatever is preferred” -> Next -> For Connections select "standardswitchs" -> Select use an existing virtual hard-disk drive and point it to the downloaded hard-disk image. Click Finish and run it.
