Search omnibox first character dropped (on GTK linux) #212

On linux, the first character in the Omnisearch box is dropped.

Ctrl-3 (or click in search box)

Note that the box only contains "ist" and the search is filtered on "ist".
The "L" is missing.

If this turns out to be Linux specific, bounce back to me.

R611 appears to be the culprit. The source of this woe is an extra focus event that triggers the text to get cleared a gratuitously, gobbling up the first char. I have a fix in mind and am currently testing...
