User Testing: Parent Interface

Winifredliang edited this page Oct 18, 2018 · 2 revisions

This page contains questions used during user testing for the Parent Interface. There were 3 aspects that our team tested - Features, Navigation, and Aesthetics. Unlike the surveys for the Child Interface, only one Google form was created, containing all 3 aspects, with the same consent form used for the Child interface survey and the same paragraph describing our project.

Information to Users:

Unlocked is an app targeted at teenage mobile addicts and aims to teach them time management skills by restricting access to social and entertainment apps, and rewarding them with time allowance each time they complete a task. Unlocked has a preset time allowance for the week that resets at the start of each new week. Teens are able to create tasks, which parents will then approve and set rewards (time allowance) for. Time earned by completing tasks will be added to the weekly time bank and teens can decide for themselves how to spend their time allowance.

You will be asked to complete a series of tasks, and answer questions relating to your experience in accomplishing those tasks which will help our team determine the relevance of particular functionalities.

Task 1: Scan the unique code from the child app and sync

Task 2: Visit the Home page

Task 3: Visit your child's profile page 4-12

In this section, you will need to follow the following steps and answer questions as you go along. You may choose to answer at each step, or complete all the steps and answer all the questions at the end. It is entirely up to you.

  1. Set a time allowance for the week
  2. Set a time reward for a task
  3. Approve a task that has been completed
  4. View their most used apps
  5. Add an app to lockdown in the event your child uses up all their time allowance for the week

Task 4: Visit your profile page 13
