Click the gear in the bottom-right and press the green "Add a network" button.

Enter the following information:

  • For the Hostname field, enter irc.gitter.im
  • For the Port field, enter 6667 and Check "Secure Port"
  • For the Nickname field, enter your Gitter/GitHub username
  • Click the "Advanced options" and enter the token we give you for /PASS(from irc.gitter.im) in the Server password field

You can now add rooms by going to the network in the right-menu -> gear -> Join a channel and entering the room name. The IRC hash prefix is optional.
