2022 April 13 - Team Meeting

AGENDA

Timezones listed as PDT.
Note: the Zoom room will close abruptly at the end-time of the meeting to accommodate another Hack for LA meeting.

Notes:

  • took AtD team photo for Hack for LA website hero image
  • AJ went over planning week outcomes with team in slides
    • Mike - Q: Are we focused on city of LA or the county for the database of resources? A: We are focusing on LA county that include 80-100 cities and focused on where data lives is, not tools yet. do by function (i.e. transportation, land use).
    • add structure and organization to the landscape
    • Mariana - Q: How much research has been done already. Are you guys going to re-visit research/tests.
    • Soyoung - Q: One quick question for clarification: are you planning to build a online website? or both website and mobile app?
  • Kaylena update: grids and layouts will take 2 weeks- components moved onto pages
  • Kevin wanted feedback on header and footer for mobile and desktop
    • header: need higher contrast with logo, so added white border, added Home in, added line under
    • footer: changed
    • had different options
    • click on logo for home instead of home button - logo on left
    • border is too sharp around logo
    • common practice to put white letters like other logos - try inverted
    • hamburger menu vs logo - not a problem
    • If you are going with the first design, please add more vertical padding on desktop.
    • bigger text with more spacing for footer
    • "do you care about your community?" section replicates mobile for not white and white footer with 1st version of desktop
    • try making header and footer with white
    • .s re the designs that we looked at before. I agree the duolingo logo treatment that Melissa mentioned might also be a good choice.
  • research has blockers -
  • find if someone is out
  • Kim presents outreach and recruitment
    • have recruitment strategy and screener survey needs to get approved
    • Joyce is talking to Chris on 5:30PST Thursday - need note taker
  • Hannah presents tree test
    • destination mapping - where people went -
    • ask how to analyze data?
    • targeted card sort - a/b testing - interviews to understand uncertainty
    • look into questions - look at ambiguity of wording of questions

AGENDA

Timezones listed as PDT.
Note: the Zoom room will close abruptly at 18:00 to accommodate another Hack for LA meeting.

Notes:

  • Next steps with React #246 will have an impact on if we use a carousel. The deciding factor is ease of maintenance. Once we know if we are using React we will know what makes sense.
  • Decided to move away from carousel for now and the interim solution is to stick with one page from the carousel as a static section. Change is noted and reflect in CURRENT high fi wireframe figma
  • Leslie shared some carousel alternative ideas
    • need to consider better and more permanent alternative to carousel after devs have answered some questions about which technology they are going to use to build out the website
    • need to consider where else in the website we could repurpose the carousel copy (i.e. header images for other pages)
