What is Lucky Parking?

Project Detail:

Visualization of parking data to assist in understanding the effects of parking policies on a neighborhood by neighborhood basis in the City of Los Angeles.

The project maps the 12.5 million parking citations on a web application that is easy to use, yet able to provide meaningful insight about the parking citations that occur in their neighborhoods.

Project Importance:

To provide concise and easily understandable impact of the inequity in parking across the Los Angelous area. This product aims to empower neighborhood and city council members with the knowledge of how certain districts risks/disadvantages may out-weight the benefit of the current parking enforcement and provide data to showcase the inequity in the current system.

Developers' responsibilities

As developers, we can help in creating the tool to empower neighborhood council members.

Our current goal is to optimize the user flow for parking citation data query. As we, the lucky parking team, figure out our minimum viable product (MVP), developers will first simplify codebase for future iteration.

  2. Quality code and documentations

With our contribution, we can empower the UI/UX team to conduct better usability tests.
