This makes completion "less verbose" by hiding any matching nested references and instead always present the nearest top-level match based on the prefix.

We can revisit the idea of making the old verbose completion opt-in behaviour, but I think this is better default for any more complex configurations which would easily cross 100 completion items with just references alone.
