AtlasOS
AtlasOS is mod to Windows 10 and 11 that uninstalls lot of bloat. See https://docs.atlasos.net/getting-started/installation/ for details.
How it works:
- you have to first install legit and supported Windows 10 or 11
- you than run
AME Wizard
withAtlas OS
playbook that will remove and customize lot of Windows features
After install:
- many features are disabled by default
- However you can enable many of them by running prepared script
in your
%USER_PROFILE%\Desktop\Atlas
folder.
For example I have to run:
%USER_PROFILE%\Desktop\Atlas\3. Configuration\1. General Configuration\Printing\Enable Printing.cmd
To be able to print to PDF (using Microsoft PDF driver). It will of course lower your security (possibility of exploiting print-nightmare bug), but working system is better than not working secure system...
When running ST-Link driver from https://www.st.com/content/ccc/resource/technical/software/driver/c6/fa/5a/f9/d4/d2/40/db/stsw-link009.zip/files/stsw-link009.zip/jcr:content/translations/en.stsw-link009.zip The contained installer will throw error 2503.
Googled this answer:
- https://forum.atlasos.net/d/555-fix-for-errors-2502-and-2503-with-installers If you have errors (2502 and 2503) when installing applications, specifically MSI packages, the issue has been fixed in the upcoming release and the root cause has been found.
See here for the fix: https://docs.atlasos.net/troubleshooting/common-issues/auto-cleaner/
It contains link to script Fix-Auto-Cleaner.bat
that will
- tweak Edge updates
- remove Auto-Clean module that normally runs on Login
- fix permissions on
C:\Windows\TEMP
