Current phrasing:
Prioritise atomic data (i.e. decomposition of multidimensional attributes, e.g. tenure) Break down information being collected into individual (atomic) attributes. Collect primary data in place of secondary categorical data, where feasible.

If "atomic" is retained in some form, it should also appear in a glossary of terms to avoid alienating contributors.
