Current phrasing:

Prioritise atomic data (i.e. decomposition of multidimensional attributes, e.g. tenure)

  • Break down information being collected into individual (atomic) attributes.
  • Collect primary data in place of secondary categorical data, where feasible.

This is too technical, especially the word atomic.

If "atomic" is retained in some form, it should also appear in a glossary of terms to avoid alienating contributors.

can we use data primitives instead of atomic data, or does that just regurgitate the problem?

Could just list a series of meaningful synonyms, as in "... individual (atomic, primitive) attributes (qualities)"
