pulleys

  • Buy more wood
  • GET MORE SERVOS
  • Make any adjustments to pulley patterns (in progress - Sarah)
  • Cut and assemble 25 pulleys
  • Laser cut and assemble 30x30" frame
  • Get servo controller shield to work
  • Attach all servos to shield and Arduino
  • Figure out what kind of motion we want for the net and implement with the servo controller
  • Order washers (or buy from Home Depot)
  • Use washers to hold pulleys in place

LED net

  • Get white and blue LEDs
  • Cut strings
  • Wrap and solder LEDs to conductive thread
  • Design layout of LEDs
  • Wrap conductive thread around node lines and attach to actual wire
  • Attach all LEDs to Arduino Mega
  • Figure out and implement the pattern/interaction we want from LEDs: Twinkling?
  • Add weight to nodes?

barnacles

  • How many barnacles are we making?
  • Get other sizes of 3D print positives from Mark
  • Prototype string and servo mechanism with cups and cardboard box
  • Get fiber optics?
  • Make silicon mold
  • Make polyethylene barnacle shells
  • Make "shelf" for barnacles
  • Design placement of barnacles in the space
  • Set up proximity sensor with same Arduino as the barnacle controller

integration

  • Determine how we are connecting the 3 different Arduinos and passing our inputs/outputs
    • Wi-Fi?
    • bluetooth?
    • serial input/output
  • Full system test: sensor --> barnacles <--> net

installation

  • Where are we putting the Arduinos?
  • Power sources
  • Determine where to put sensor

Action Items for 4/13:

  • Sarah: Finish pulley adjustments and cutting(?)
  • Tracey: Cut strings
  • Tracey: Attach conductive thread + LEDs
  • Max: LED twinkling
  • Max: Diagram for barnacle prototype
  • Buy more servos - ask Mark
  • Buy more silicone
  • Buy more resin - ask Mark for kind that dries more quickly
