It doesn't seem that the pdf is broken though.

Console messages:

I've noticed also that text layer is slightly broken in some places in this pdf:

Original issue is resolved, text layer issue remains.

Closing as fixed in the latest development version of PDF.js. Text selection is now equivalent to that of other PDF readers.
