If this check is not present and if any anchor tag does not has href attribute (which its not there in dataTables plugin) then the page was being redirected to "/undefined".

…se they have no HREF is not the right behavior for everyone. In some cases it makes sense to monitor clicks from AJAX driven elements and it is much easier to ignore them with the ignoreClass or ignoreSelector than having to wire up the events manually.
