Now that we are officially a task force, we have a new mailing list, public-aria-practices@w3.org. Let's discuss if we want to make any operational changes.
- Combobox: Write pattern and implement both a 1.0 and 1.1 style example with a listbox popup.
- Multithumb slider: Update pattern and implement an example.
- Window splitter: Update pattern and implement an example.
- June 28 publication feedback: Triage issues; resolve any targeted for this milestone based on urgency.
Do we need to remove or add anything?
- Pull 421: chore: add VNU checking
- Do we have needed filters? Would like help with review.
- Updated the pattern based on last week's feedback.
- Pattern in RawGit of combo-examples-1.1 branch
Discussion questions:
- Does the description omit any important features?
- Does the description adequately address the listbox/select/combo distinction?
- The description intentionally avoids the inherrantly confusing term "read-only combobox" to refer to a combobox restricted to a predefined set of values. Does the approach work?
- Is the note about the ARIA 1.0 pattern adequate?
- The keyboard interaction currently includes all single-line textbox keys partly because we do not have a textbox pattern. Should we keep it this way?
- Is the proposed structure for the keyboard section good?
- Implementation of ARIA 1.1 Combobox with listbox popup in combo-examples-1.1 branch
- Issue 100: Develop examples of ARIA 1.1 Combobox design pattern
Notes and questions:
- We've worked only on the example code; the supporting documentation is not yet started.
- Should the different types of autocomplete all be on one page or broken out to multiple pages?
- Open issue to discuss with browser and screen reader devs: How should labeling be done? Should we allow the textbox and popup to have distinct labels? For example, "Fruits and Vegetables" on textbox and "Suggested Fruits and Vegetables" on the popup?
