Question about FlashSpace app assign to workspace #51
Comments
Hi, there are many problems with agents, they don't behave like normal apps. The standard hide/show doesn't work on them, there are also performance issues. In general, those apps are not meant to stay in the foreground. This type is for apps working in the background. Those apps can show windows, but as you can even see using CMD+Tab they don't appear there. I don't see at this point any reasonable way to support it without losing performance. |
Maybe a feature toggle to allow this type of app with a warning of the concerns you raised? I don't recall any bug with Windows app in earlier versions, did you find any specific issue with that apps? |
I didn't test this particular app, but I tested with some others, even with FlashSpace itself :D and it doesn't work at all - the app stays unaffected by show/hide. |
This is a nice to have for me, I am using FlashSpace as main workspace maanger and this is just a small detail tho. I'll check when I have some type how this particular apps behave with a forked branch and if I see this as a useful feature I'll bring a new issue to discuss technically if this would be acceptable to be included in the repo. Thanks! |
It seems like your problem might be connected with this one: #57 If you find an app that would allow me to reproduce this issue, I can investigate it. I guess I can't just use Windows App without some configured environment for that. |
It should be resolved in #78 :) |
Hi,
I am trying to assign Windows app in macOS (to access VDI) and I am getting "This application is an agent (runs in background) and cannot be managed by FlashSpace."
I recall but I am not sure, in the first versions this was actually possible (add Windows app).
Windows app I refer to: https://apps.apple.com/br/app/windows-app/id1295203466?l=en-GB&mt=12
Is this something that might be implemented in the future? This app probably runs in background but I am not sure why this would be a blocker for it, as it is actually a usable app - not something that just appears in the menu bar.
