The ESGF Web Front End services API

The ESGF web front end exposes a number of vital services that can be used by clients (either through the browser or through command lines) to do a number of functions. These services are:

• Accounts Services : services that get information from user accounts and groups.

• Administrative Services : services that allow root admins to apply CRUD operations to user accounts and groups.

• Datacart Services : services for interacting with the front end datacart.

• Email Services : services for sending email.

• Facet File Services : services for adding/editing/deleting valid facet names.

• File Transformation Services : services for transforming one file named format into another (e.g. http -> gridftp).

• Help Page Services : services for configuring the help page of the front end.

• LAS Configuration Services : services for configuring the LAS analysis tool.

• Live Search Services : services that control the loading of the live search page.

• Metadata Services : services that expose metadata of the datasets.

• Search Configuration/Setting Services : services that allow for configuration of search options in the front end.

• ESGF SRM Services : services that control different aspects of the srm workflow.
