Working with Collections

Overview

Collections are versioned repositories of references to existing concepts and mappings. Collections are used to organize concepts and mappings that are defined in other sources into useful logical groupings. They may be domain specific (e.g. oncology), or project specific (e.g. CHW-provided postpartum care).

Examples of collections include a subset of ICD-10, a diabetes value set, or a Community Maternal-Child Starter Set. Concepts and mappings are added into a collection by creating references. Multiple references may be combined to build the desired set of concepts and mappings.

Using OCL to create Collections of concepts of allows users to make customized lists of standardized terminology to most efficiently serve their terminology management needs in various departments, domains, projects, etc. Note:

Creating a Collection

  • Navigate to your home page and click on New User Collection on the upper right corner of your profile page

Enter the information about the Collection you are adding.

  • Choose which Type of Collection you are adding.

  • Set permissions for Public Access to the source (Note that owners can always edit a source):
    • View (default) - Any users may view the source.
    • Edit - Any user may edit the source.
    • None - Only owners may view or edit the source. Note that this requires a premium account to OCL.

  • Create an External ID for the collection.
  • Choose the Locale you want to access the collection in.
  • Indicate the Supported Locales for the collection.
  • Provide a Description of the collection.
  • Add your collection

Go back to your Organization profile to view your Collection New Collection


Editing a Collection

Once you've added your Collection, you can View and Edit its details as needed.

  • To Edit your Collection:

  • On your home page, click the collection you want to edit. Alternatively, navigate to the source tab and then click the related collections tab

  • Click the Gears icon Gears Icon next to Collection name to make edits to your collection.

  • When done, click the Update button at the bottom of the form

Deleting a Collection

To Delete a Collection completely:

  • Click the Trash Icon icon next to Edit Collection
  • You will be prompted to confirm your action
  • Delete as appropriate
