Paper Logs can be used as a fuel source for furnaces or any device that takes furnace fuel. By default it has a burn time of 800 ticks, or half that of regular coal. The burn time of a Paper Log can be modified by changing the configuration file.

To create a Paper Log you will need a Paper Log Maker. The Paper Log Maker has 128 uses before breaking. Place the Paper Log Maker in the center of the crafting grid and surround with 8 Paper. You can use the shift click behavior of the crafting grid output to make multiple Paper Logs.
