FineBuild can install and configure the SQL Server 2005 Backward Compatibility as part of the SQL Server install process. If you do not want to include SQL Server 2005 Backward Compatibility in your FineBuild install, then do not download it.

SQL Server 2005 Backward Compatibility is written by Microsoft. It was chosen to be included in FineBuild because it allows legacy DMO applications to run and is a pre-requisite for DTS Designer support.

SQL2005 Backward Compatibility is no longer supported by Microsoft.
