Yep, this is a bug. I'll have a look if I can come up with a proper fix. An easy solution would be that we just try importing it and catching ImportError exception. The problem with that approach is that we cannot differentiate between a module-does-not-exist ImportError and one-of-the-dependencies-of-module-is-missing ImportError. The latter one we would like to report, the first one not. |

When defining a custom type of switch in
config/custom_components/switchthe file__init__.pyhas to be copied. Otherwise the custom folder is skipped and the custom component is searched for in the built-in components folder (where it is not found and an error is reported).Is this the intended behavior or is it a bug/missing feature?
I saw the comments in the loader code concerning this difficulty, but I do not know whether this is left as a TODO or considered complete.
