I tried to first add organization Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam with the existing ROR key. This is the error I get:

If i try to add VU University Amsterdam instead, it works just fine. Both organizations have the same ROR key (because they are just alias of the same university). This is somewhat confusing behavior of the UX.

@bakhshir I believe this is related to issue #405. We should confirm that this issue is resolved by #405 once the new version is on the production.

Hey team, i have encountered this problem again. Scenario: I am trying to add WUR into the participating organizations list here: https://research-software-directory.org/projects/is-enes3

and i quickly copy pasted the following (non plain) text:

Stichting Wageningen Research, Wageningen Environmental Research

I got the same error as above, despite me selecting from the list WUR. It was trying to add it from scratch from ROR, but the organization WUR already exists. I removed my text, and simply typed in WUR. It did the trick.
