Assertion failure when passing immutable array to stream read operation

What steps will reproduce the problem?

1. Run this in the VM (ArrayIsNotArray.dart):
   void main() {
     Process p = new Process('/bin/bash', ['-c', 'seq -s: 1 10']);
     p.setExitHandler((int status) {
         print('exit($status)');
         p.close();
       });
     
     p.start();
     p.stdoutStream.read([null], 0, 1, null);
   }

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
$ dart ArrayIsNotArray.dart
exit(0)

Instead I get:
$ dart ArrayIsNotArray.dart
dart: ../runtime/bin/socket.cc:42: void Builtin_Socket_ReadList(void*): Assertion `Dart_IsArray(buffer_obj)' failed.
Aborted (core dumped)

Passing in an immutable array to read should throw an exception instead of asserting that the input is an array.

Yes. But [null] is not an immutable array.
