Zotino is a 32 channel, 16-bit DAC EEM with an update rate of 1MSPS, which can be divided arbitrarily between the channels. It was designed for low-noise and good stability.

Design files are here (direct link to schematics). Artiq docs/drivers link will be added once they are written!

To do: make these images a sensible size (put them next to each other, rather than one on top of the other). Add a caption. Make a bit smaller?

WIP, add details once measurements are complete.

  • Current hardware revision: Rev 1.1 (first prototype)
  • Cost: €500 (estimate)
  • Width: 4HP
  • DAC: AD5372BCPZ
  • Channel count: 32
  • Resolution: 16-bit
  • Update rate: 1MSPS, which can be divided arbitrarily between channels
  • Output voltage: ±10V
  • Analogue bandwidth: 3rd-order Butterworth response with 75kHz cut-off; ?V/s slew-rate
  • Output impedance: 470Ohm in parallel with 2.2nF
  • Noise: <10ppm RMS integrated noise between 0.1Hz and 1kHz; 1nV/rtHz at 1MHz with 20dB-decade roll-off
  • Long-term stability: on-board temperature regulator for low drift. Quantify this.
  • EEM connectors: power and digital communication supplied by a single EEM connector.
  • Power consumption: 3W without load, 8.7W with max load on all channels.
