Don't get stuck like many in the clarity of Casteneda's books or any other promises of freedom (Buddhism), etc.

The fact is you were given freedom. The Bible remains your best friend, giving you a working body, a journey of knowledge, your history that science wants to turn around, and the Earth.

Only idiots complain about it, trust me. But then a lot of idiots propound upon it as well. If you want to free your mind, you have to at least start with Truth: you are Adam or Eve. There are few exceptions (American Indians and the Aryans are two notable ones). The apple gave you freedom (it was probably more like a pear, dripping to be eaten). It has sugar. Sugar feeds your brain. The first act of eating the apple was self-awareness. Don't let the monkeys turn you into one them.

Then there's Jesus, he died so you don't have to make animal sacrifices to provide the life force for your sinned-up, imperfect body. But that doesn't last forever (see Revelations: Judgement Day).
