marksmanship

The West has it's own brand of martial arts: marksmanship: the science/art of handling explosive weapons.

The enlightened warrior doesn't carry a weapon with a power that s/he can't take a responsibity for -- either because s/he didn't build it or because s/he won't take an item from someone else's power structures that s/he hasn't mastered.

That's true whether it's a sniper rifle, a F-16 loaded with missiles, or a slingshot. The capacity to inflict lethal injury is a concern for every moral person, regardless of rank or nation.

The master of marksmanship knows precision (how), responsible use (when), political strategy (why), and total moral fortitude (if it should be used).

  1. comes from weapon selection, proper sighting, ballistic stability.
  2. comes from knowing what you're doing (gun handling: maintainance, safety), who you're doing it for, proper reserve that allows for other options to come into play
  3. comes from being aware of your political environment, asking questions to those in charge, your own political acumen, being part of a higher purpose (that is neither bogus nor exploited -- see reality), and
  4. comes from possessing a sophistication of knowledge and being enlightened.

Guns come exclusively from the Judeo-Christian-Indo-Islamic world, but there are many types of protection or "augmented persuasion" possible.
