Cut Scenes

EDIT: Now that the perspective has changed, the cut scenes can probably be produced as in-game interactions. Also not that high priority; game play is easier to create and more pressing.

General style

The cut scenes should be roughly 1267 wide by 792 tall (I arbitrarily picked 1267 = 1900 * 2/3; then 1267 / 792 = golden ratio). We hope to emulate the style of cutscenes in the Witcher 3, where third person narration plays over a static or slightly animated comic book-style scene. It would be nice to draw these scenes in the style of Egyptian wall paintings. Realistically, it might need to depart from that style in order to be more expressive or clear to the audience, but it should still resemble it vaguely (same perspective, motifs, colors, etc.).

Characters should be drawn to look like the sprites used in game so that they are recognizable (but can be simplified or in different poses). Textures and animations can be found in these folders.

List of scenes

For September 22nd: 0. Explains who Prince Setna is and that he is training to become a sorcerer

  1. Post-tutorial cut-scene: a ghost appears to the main character and tells him about the book of Thoth.
  2. Post-ambush cut-scene: interrogate one of the attackers; they tell you about the Society of Set.

Next: Post-escape cut-scene: shows Setna leaving the palace (start of the adventure)
