Leadership Group meeting: Janaury 30 2025

Agenda and summary notes:

• Code of Conduct Committee:
  • Amy is working on organizing two new members for required training
• Community Manager hiring and next steps:
  • there were about 65 applicants
  • Two finalists will be interviewing and presenting this week and next. The Leadership Group is invited to attend and offer feedback
  • The Board is hoping to make an offer by the end of February
• Updates from the Committees and Interest Groups:
  • LAC/GLAM regular meeting Thursday 2/6 on ILS integrations
  • IR continues to be just a few members and have not met recently
  • next TAG meeting is Feb. 12. Last meeting involved discussions about Drupal 11 readiness
  • MIG: discussion about DC and Islandora
  • DIG: Kestrel Ward spoke about FLVC’s documentation: https://flvc.libguides.com/FL-Islandora/fig20
• IslandoraCon 2025 updates
  • CFP has been extended to Feb. 28, notifications for successful proposals by March 14
  • Planning continues, Amy will share additional milestones and updates at the next meeting
• Governance Roles and Responsibilities review
  • The LG will ask what are the essential activities needed to sustain the IF and the community, and who within the current governance groups has responsibility for those activities (including if there are gaps and we need additional resources, new committees, etc.) Having this ready for the new Community Manager onboarding is one of our next highest priorities
• IF Membership Renewals: timeline, communications?
  • There was some discussion about strategies for encouraging new members, especially for the new Adopter level
• February and March Open Meetings
  • We discussed capacity within the LG to organize a February Open Meeting; at this time, it is unlikely that one will be held (communications to the community will be sent soon to confirm)
  • Supporting community meetings is part of the Community Manager duties, so potentially a March Open Meeting could be arranged.
• Administrivia:
  • We discussed a few different items related to recurring meetings, updates to the wiki and updating the community on LG work
