  • collaboration with SKA and EESSI
    • they're now looking into adding initial set of software to software.eessi.io

Progress update per EESSI layer

Filesystem layer

(see slides)

  • ...
Compatibility layer

(see slides)

  • GitHub Action needs to be updated to also support software.eessi.io
    • Alan worked on that already, latest release should support the new repo
Software layer

(see slides)

  • starting to get contributions from people outside of EESSI
Build-and-deploy bot

(see slides)

  • job manager is still crashing every now and then (see issue #193)
    • temporary workaround is in place, but it should be fixed properly...
EESSI repository

(see slides)

  • ...
GPU support
  • Bob: are the sysadmin privileges required for configuring the variant symlink?
    • Yes, or for granting write permission to the default location (/opt/eessi). The script itself is not supposed to be run with root privileges, we'll add a check for that.
  • Alex: what are those scripts actually doing exactly?
    • link_nvidia_host_libraries.sh installs symbolic links to host OS GPU driver libraries in /cvmfs/software.eessi.io/host_injections; it does not install drivers, and it does not install anything outside the host_injections directory.
EESSI test suite

(see slides)

Support for EESSI

(see slides)
