GPLv3

Hover UI Kit is an open-source project, provided under a GPLv3 license. Refer to the full license for details. In general:

  • Open-source projects (commercial or not) may use Hover UI Kit freely. Technically, these projects are also supposed to use a GPLv3-compatible license. Open-source projects allow other developers to see real-life integration examples, to review/help with integration issues/ideas, and to also see any modifications made to the Hovercast source code. All of these details can help to improve and expand the Hover UI Kit project.

  • Closed-source projects must contact the developer to arrange a per-project licensing agreement. For commercial projects, this may include licensing fees. Software contracting/consultation services are available via Aesthetic Interactive.

  • Non-Software Content, such as the content of this project's wiki pages, is not included in the open-source license. See the "Non-Software Content" section below for more details.

Contact

In all cases, please send a quick email describing your project. Your project can be included on a [Showcase page](Hovercast Showcase), and also receive various social media mentions. The goal of the Hover UI Kit project is to help developers make great VR and AR experiences, and we want to help share them!

Attribution

Attribution for Hover UI Kit is very much appreciated! This might occur in various forms -- a link on your project page, mentioning #HoverUI in social media posts, posting to your blog, etc. This helps other developers find this project, which keeps it active and continually improving.

Non-Software Content

The GitHub project for Hover UI Kit contains wiki pages, documentation, artwork, graphics, illustrations, bug tickets, issue descriptions, issue comments, and other content created by Aesthetic Interactive (called "Non-Software Content"). Non-Software Content is not provided with an open-source license, and is contained outside of the project's main source repository. The project's Non-Software Content is copyrighted by Aesthetic Interactive, and it may not be copied or reproduced without written permission from Aesthetic Interactive.

Note: forking a GitHub project does not automatically copy the Non-Software Content, it only copies the project's main source repository. For example, the wiki pages and issues are not copied to the forked version.
