Beach operation

This page details the operation of the beach.

Raising

  1. Plug an extension cord into each lifting winch.
  2. Attach the winch lifting hooks to the lifting points on the beach.
  3. Move the hoist so that the center of the hoist is about 6" away from the center of the beach lifting points, away from the wavemaker. This helps to keep the beach all the way against the wall while lifting.
  4. Lift the beach out slowly, ensuring that the beach does not catch on the linear shafts on its way up. It may be necessary to move the gantry, which may require lowering the jacks and reversing the wheels' directions.
  5. With a cloth or paper towel, wipe any water dripped from the beach off all metal surfaces.

Lowering

  1. Plug an extension cord into each lifting winch.
  2. Lower the beach into the water slowly, ensuring that it doesn't catch on the linear shafts on its way down. It may be necessary to move the gantry, which may require lowering the jacks and reversing the wheels' directions.
