Item Categories

Skills, abilities, and equipment can be sorted into up to four categories. You need to label these categories explicitly in the sheet settings so that they appear. As of v2.7.0, you can no longer set the categories in the item sheet when the categories aren’t labeled (with the exception of spells, which are always available). You can set the categories to be hidden when they are empty, in which case you can still sort them in the item settings. If they are empty and shown, you can simply drag the appropriate items onto the list and they are being sorted, so no need to go into the item settings any more.

A word about equipment categories and why I was hesitant to implement them at all. They are not meant as your general item management. For example, having a backpack category only has limited use, as you still can’t sort cyphers, artifacts, crafting material and other stuff into those categories. Only items of the equipment type can be sorted that way. I’m not planning on changing that. So, if you want to note somehow that a certain cypher is in your backpack, you need to note that in some other way. The intention is rather that you can further divide the equipment (as in the item type) into different categories like weapons, food, clothing, and adventuring gear. The whole equipment section is meant for the stuff the PCs have on them. That’s also the reason why you can’t duplicate quantifiable items. If you want to store equipment somewhere else, I suggest using a marker actor (for example as the backpack or your car where you store some stuff), and linking to that in an equipment description. That is not to say that you can’t do that (I did that in my testing as well, and in the demo video above), but its use is limited to equipment type items.
